An article by Dr. Al Sears describes the value of consuming tomatoes and tomato products for maintaining cardiovascular health. Medical science has recognized that for decades now. But interestingly a new study out of South Korea emphasizes the heart and artery boost that tomatoes give.
For example, a mere 15 mg of lycopene was shown to “boost the body’s natural antioxidant defenses and protect against DNA damage” over an eight-week period. And to top that off, lycopene was also shown to support healthy blood pressure, blood vessel function, and inflammatory response!
